How does the good faith deposit system work?
Posted by - NA - on January 19 2009 07:45 PM

You do not have to pay your Expert until you have viewed an answer and found it satisfactory.  However, a refundable good faith deposit is required of new customers who do not yet have an accept on our site. The deposit is placed in a user account in your name on our site and it is completely refundable for any reason until you spend it to accept an answer. Our deposit system gives Experts the confidence that the funds would be available to pay them should they be able to help, and the Customer can feel safe knowing that JustAnswer will refund their deposit, no questions asked, at any time. When you accept your Expert's answer, the funds in your user account from your deposit are used to pay your Expert. However all the funds you deposit in your user account are refundable until you spend them, and requesting a refund is quick and easy. You can request a refund by clicking HERE. Refund requests are generally processed within 24 hours with the funds clearing our bank on the same day. However, please allow up to 4 business days for your bank to post the refund to your account.
